I like to add a date, location and coordinator for all planned events. Printing out a holiday calendar and write all the events on there so you can visually imagine them. For even more ease, add a suggested menu for each day of the wedding week so you can purchase all food items needed in advance.

Time Line of Wedding Events to add to Calendar

  • Pelmeni and other food prep Day/s
  • Propoi
  • Bridal Shower
  • Picture Day
  • Divishnik day/s & feed the wedding party
  • Pavenik you will need to arrange someone to stay with the bride for the day
  • Room decorating
  • Wedding day

  • Stop at the barn for a good bye on cleaning day
  • Flight details for double state wedding

Checklist of all things you need to do

  • Svatat – Set dates and location with grooms family.
  • Find a svashka, buy her all the wedding fabrics
  • Make a groom family tree and gift list – siblings, uncles, aunts, grandparents and godparents
  • Request patterns from grooms side for those you are planning to sew for
  • Choose colors for propoi, first and second day of the wedding
  • Have the bride select her colors for propoi, divishnik/i, first and second day of wedding.
  • Plan extra outfits bride/groom
  • Make wedding invitation lists
  • Invite friends and family to match
  • Invite friends and family to the wedding
  • Purchase tickets, rent a vehicle and secure stay for destination wedding
  • Designate person for bridal shower
  • Find a location to hold the propoi and divishnik
  • Decor for bridal bedroom, bathroom, barn and home kitchen
  • Purchase all items for a bride to-go bag
  • Sew propoi aprons
  • Plan pelmeni/food prep days
  • Propoi menu and shopping lists
  • Wedding party menu, for divishnik day
  • Decor for divishnik
  • Picture day photographer
  • Pavenik – time and place
  • Braid salesman, coordinate person
  • Yashik plan and coordinator

  • Put together all the svashka stuff
  • Make sure you have the Icon and candles for the wedding
  • Learn church blessings, parents blessing but also the bride and groom can learn their parts for propoi, church and gift giving.
